Nebbi University Students’ Development Association (NUSDA) is an umbrella Association
that brings together all the Alur Students’ Associations in all the universities and other
higher institutions of learning in Uganda and abroad. The Association encompasses the
students from the Greater Nebbi (Nebbi, Zombo and Pakwach districts). Democratically
elected student leaders/Executives from the various Daughter Associations convene
annually to form the NUSDA COUNCIL from which NUSDA Executive members/leaders
are elected for a one-year term of office.
The Association was formed in 2005 under the leadership of Mr. Kura Vasco, the then
District Education Officer Nebbi District Local government. The Association in its initial
form was launched in Nebbi under the headship of Ms. Afoyochan Hilder as an interim
President and Mr. Geofrey Okila (RIP) as the Patron in 2005. However, NUSDA was again
launched in its current structure of operation during a Grand Ceremony, which was graced
by His Majesty Ubimu Olarker Phílip Rauni III on 8 November 2008 in Kampala.
